The Ethical Food Company is about great food and great service! According to Good Housekeeping Magazine: We were recently mystery shopped by this famously renowned women's magazine, Good Housekeeping. The results had us leaping around our little office full of the joys of spring! As well as complementing our "Excellent selection of boxes", we scored 10/10 on value and were given a lovely overall score of 81/100. Some of our more well known friends only managed 4/10 for value which broadened our beaming smiles still further! Tell me more… The concept of the company arose from our concerns about the lack of good quality, healthy and safe food, and our frustrations with the supermarkets’ dominance and control over the way that food is produced and sold in the UK. Basically, we love good food and we want it to taste great, so we developed our shop full of wonderful, ethically sourced, ethically delivered produce. As “socially conscious” shoppers, we wanted a quality, affordable alternative to the supermarket, but found that there was no real, convenient option – so we set about creating one… and here it is! What do you mean, ethical?!? All our products and business practices are put to 'the ethical test' before we use them. Each has to fit at least one of our 'ethical criteria: Local - Products that are grown, baked, roasted and created within 40 miles of our HQ in Buckinghamshire. Organic - Products that carry an official organic certification, guaranteeing quality and flavour. Animal Welfare - Ian, our resident animal welfare scientist works with our farmers to ensure all our meat and poultry is produced using the highest animal welfare standards. Fairtrade - Products that carry the Fairtrade symbol awarded by the Fairtrade Foundation, guaranteeing fair prices, fair wages and good working conditions. Sustainable - sustainable farming systems, sustainable business practices, sustainable local economies...we're working on them all How do you differ from all those other delivery companies?
